I hope that you are in good health and making the best of a very difficult situation. I am writing to update you on the current state of affairs for our church in particular. We are in unprecedented times as a State and Nation. We are facing some very difficult times but God is greater than any one person’s agenda or any groups desire to disrupt our lives.
The governor has just given us a “Stay At Home” order just a few hours ago, in it, he is asking that all Californians stay in their homes and shelter there for one month. Governor Newsom also asked that there be no gatherings of people above ten.
Effective immediately, we are suspending all Church Services for the next six weeks. I am also asking the members of The Centre at Highland Church to suspend all gatherings of any groups regardless of size. We will perform all of our worship services through Facebook Live and YouTube on Sundays and Tuesdays. Everything on our calendar is cancelled for the next two months.
As a father of five adult children and four grandchildren, I am deeply concerned about what is ahead of us. Denise and I are concerned about each of you and are doing everything in our power to stay connected with you. Updates and the latest facts about this ever-changing situation will be sent via email, and will be posted to our Facebook page and website. Tithes and offerings may now be submitted directly on the website to minimize the confusion.
As I stated previously, we will get through it together. Now is the time to get to know family in a deeper way. This is a good time to put together an emergency plan for reaching each other if something were to happen to our basic systems of communications. Get a list of everyone’s phone and address and where to meet should you be displaced from your current location. There is so much to appreciate about the people we love, let’s take this time to bond and connect in new ways.
Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you.
He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.
