As we look back over the life of a servant who has committed her entire life to serving, it is sobering to consider the sacrifice necessary to be effective in the church and the surrounding community. We live in a time when people no longer believe it is necessary to suffer in order to please the Lord; and yet that is at the heart of Christ teaching during the training and development of His own disciples.
The best example we have comes directly from The Lord’s example and realized through great pain and struggle. It is only after we revisit the journey of Jesus and His disciples that we can appreciate the message of real sacrifice and future rewards.
